Evening all – the August IPMS Houston meeting is already upon us.
The time: 1900hrs, Tuesday 8th August
The place: Tracy Gee Community Center, 3599 Westcenter Dr, Houston, TX 77042
Organising Your Stash. This month’s demo by Mike Raymond is “StashManager” on www.scalemates.com. “Manage your collection of kits, aftermarket sets, books, magazines and paints“. Don’t worry, I can scarcely contain my excitement either. And people say we don’t have a life… I mean, really.
Seriously though, I’m looking forward to this because I’ve tried various time-wasting ways of doing this over the years, without succeeding, so now all the aftermarket junk goes in the box with the specific kit, with a sticky label on the outside reminding me how many multiples of the original kit price is jammed into the box in the way of PE brass I won’t use and resin that won’t fit. Maybe I’m just grumpy today.
Other than that, we’ll broach the tricky subject of Shelf Queens – the challenge, the stories, and no doubt so much more. Bring your shelf queens, tell us the sad stories!
Cotton Report: On the subject of of
managing your stash, Rick’s penned a missive on managing your built stash. Yes, some people build, and (gasp) complete their models, rather then going the whole “Shelf Queen” route. Once one has completed a model kit, one must store it somewhere safe. Read on. Oh, and Rick, nice to see the correct spelling of “model(l)ing” in there…
Oh, and Mike West is Still In Business®. I’m just going to post that every month – it’ll be easier.
See you tomorrow night.
